Welcome to Brecks Self Catering Orkney

fourstar

Welcome to Brecks Orkney holiday accommodationCompleted and opened in June 2012, Brecks offers two separate luxury South Ronaldsay self catering units, the Barn and the Byre (pets welcome!).  Each have been finished to the highest of standards with the Barn offering accommodation sleeping up to six people and the Byre sleeping two people.

Situated 250 metres back from the public road in the heart of our fertile farmland on the beautiful Island of South Ronaldsay, Brecks offers peace and tranquillity in wonderful surroundings.

Welcome to Brecks Orkney holiday accommodationWith Orkney as a backdrop it is only fitting that as part of our ongoing tree planting project we will be helping to off-set the carbon emitted both getting to and staying here at Brecks. We will be doing this by planting a quantity of trees each year proportionate to the amount of visitors having stayed in our accommodation. Also we will be aiming to achieve a Bronze category in Green Tourism.

Connected to the Mainland of Orkney via the Churchill Barriers you will find lots of activities close to home on South Ronaldsay and further afield across the Barriers.

Outwith the accommodation, guests are welcome to help themselves to seasonal vegetables from the garden or take a stroll along the newly created walk that ambles alongside a stream going by Brecks or wander through our newly planted areas of woodland.

Book your Orkney holiday accommodation today and stay at our beautiful Barn or Byre South Ronaldsay cottage.

Carbon Off-setting

100_2095aWe will be planting 1 tree per booking at Brecks to help off-set the carbon emitted both getting to and from Brecks.

Planting these trees will take place in Autumn and Spring and we hope to offer guests who are interested the chance to help out with the planting.
