Brecks offers two separate South Ronaldsay self catering units in Orkney, The Barn and The Byre (pets welcome!).
Situated 250 metres back from the public road in the heart of our fertile farmland on the beautiful Island of South Ronaldsay, Brecks offers peace and tranquillity in wonderful surroundings.
Why Brecks?
With Orkney as a backdrop it is only fitting that as part of our ongoing tree planting project we will be helping to off-set the carbon emitted both getting to and staying here at Brecks.
We will be doing this by planting a quantity of trees each year proportionate to the amount of visitors having stayed in our accommodation.
Connected to the Mainland of Orkney via the Churchill Barriers you will find lots of activities close to home on South Ronaldsay and further afield across the Barriers.
Outwith the accommodation, guests are welcome to take a stroll through our newly planted areas of woodland.

In Orkney there is never a shortage of things to do or places to visit.
South Ronaldsay and Burray are joined to the Mainland by the Churchill Barriers which were built in the 1940’s primarily as naval defences to protect the anchorage at Scapa Flow.
We also have a choice of stunning beaches to choose from, often find yourself having a whole beach to yourself!
